Grant County International Airport in Washington

Grant County International Airport in Grant Country in Washington USA, is a public airport also used for military purposes. It is the largest airport in USA. The airport is located 5 miles northwest of the Central Business District of Mosses Lake.

The Grant County International Airport is an alternate landing site for NASA space Shuttle.

Spread across 4,700 acres of land it has five runways. The main runway is 13,500 feet long and 200 feet wide. The airport is located on the east side of Cascade Mountains in the semi-arid part of Washington. As a result the weather in this part is highly conducive to good flying.



The airport has a very relaxed norm as far as Customs are concerned. It is a user-free airport. The Port of Mosses Lake pays a fee to the US customs annually to avail services in Mosses Lake. As a result the airport collects a moderate fee from its users. For local businesses in Mosses Lake one can directly go to US Customs for clearance. As far as aircrafts coming from outside US is concerned they have to contact US Customs Services in Mosses Lake before leaving.



The Grant County international airport was primarily known as Larson Air force Base which was used to train the B-52 crews in bombing until 1965. Presently it is used by Japan Airlines for training its crews whereas the Boeing has a large test facility. The main campus of the Big Bend Community College is located here where the students get commercial or instrument pilot training along with a college degree. With 350 VFR per year and unobstructed airspace it is ideal for training. Some aerospace companies have developed various secretive research and development facilities for defense development.
