The Woodland Park Zoological Gardens was established between the years 1887 and 1889. situated in the midst of the urban jungle of Seattle. The zoo, which started off as a private garden of a rich businessman, presently houses about 1100 animals.
The Woodland Park Zoological Gardens is spread across 92 acres and has an amazing collection of about 300 species of animals which features 64 groups of invertebrates, one group of fish and one group of Partula snails. The collection of live animals in this zoo, is the largest in any park across the state of Washington.
